The DE&I Promotion Committee of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association hosted a seminar for its members, featuring a guest speaker from the Gender Equality Bureau of the Cabinet Office of Japan.
In the seminar, the representative from the Cabinet Office provided an in-depth explanation of the latest “Basic Plan for Gender Equality,” Japan’s current nationwide initiative, and delivered a lecture on the active participation of women in the economic sector.
Following this, the DE&I Promotion Committee gave a presentation outlining the findings of their ongoing studies. This included the value that DE&I brings to the field of intellectual property, as well as the current status and challenges facing the JPAA.
